The Face Shape Guide; Part 1

Sometimes it’s hard to pick flattering haircuts or hairstyles to match our face shapes. Our lovely stylists at Encore always do their best to help you decide what cuts and styles will look best on you. But while you are flipping through magazines, Facebook pictures, and Pinterest pins, there are a few things to keep in mind. Of the 7 basic face shapes, the first two I want to talk about are round and square. So let’s jump in!

Round Face Shape– your face has a circular shape

 

   – add height to the crown
   – pick long hairstyles that stay close to your cheeks
   – pick short hairstyles without width at your cheeks

 

 

Square Face Shape– you have a broad forehead and angular jaw

 
– style with side swept bangs
– add height at the crown area
– pick short or medium length hairstyles with wispy ends
